Crimson
Ok figured I would put a AAR up here. What a great game. So what was this. A mini mil sim event hosted at Rhino's private field at his house on his birthday. This game was kind of a training for mil sim for players to wet their feet. Simple and fun objective's plotting to put both of Spec ops Sponsored teams up against each other. I.m.p.a.c.t. And Dark Horizon. What we had was a geat time. About 30 people attended. Some was there first event or many others there first mil sim type event. Objectives were simple and fun from tracking down diamonds scattered across the field to mining gem stones out of a really amazing creek. Field was small and well laid out and perfect for a number of players. We had a full 6 on 6 person Tug of war which was great for laughs and points. Seen the kind of honorable play we all need more of. Hit calling was on point no tempers just fun. All and all a great day with a good turnout for those who couldnt make it to the big games this weekend. I was not able to play myself so I put on the ref shirt and helped out. Glad to see everyone who came out. Special shout out to Bear charged into glorious death more times than I could count... Ok I did count and it was alot.. Bear
It was a good day of pew pew. Fire fights were bountiful, and the targets plentiful. Good honor all around. I have a few quips. Spawns were unsheltered. The few times we got pushed back to spawns, it was nearly impossible to get out. It affected moral and made some of my team not want to leave the spawn area. What fun is it to get mowed down twenty feet out of the gate? Enemy objective were placed right next to spawn points. Spawn points were confusing as hell the first half of the game. Both teams were told to spawn from the same spawn at one point. As a paying customer, I was not happy about Rhino telling players that they couldn't wait around in spawn, and was a little pissed when he seemingly refused to listen to what I considered to be very valid concerns about not even being able to get out of our spawn due to enemy fire. That is the only reason I started my revolving door of death, in hopes of proving my point. I never got more than maybe 30 feet from spawn. Special shout out to Bear charged into glorious death more times than I could count... Ok I did count and it was alot..I shall ride the roads of Valhalla, shiny and chrome... And covered in welts... Joker
I had a good time. With the size and layout of the field as well as the number of players in attendance it made for a very target rich environment. I did a lot of shooting and killing and I mean a lot. Especially for being CO. Managed some pretty impressive long distance kills with my E1 AK. I even impressed myself with a little bit of climbing and killing in the creek. Did a lot of leading from the front as there were a lot of inexperienced players in attendance who needed that kind of moral boost and leadership. I was rather happy with my teams communication and determination throughout the day. Bear was definitely my team's MVP with Samurai being a close second, thanks for all your help guys. As far as the event itself overall it was good. There were some minor issues such as the confusion with the spawn points. But I feel like that was mostly solved once it was brought up. This was after all one of Rhino's first times hosting this type of event, so it was a learning process all around. Overall it was a fun day filled with action and honor. The opposing team gave us one hell of a fight. I can't wait to do it again next year. ~Joker
Spectra
Another shout out to Bear for pretty much single handedly assuring we (Team Impact) won tug of war. I'm not sure whether it was through brute strength or the intimidation factor, but regardless, mission accomplished I had to leave a little early but overall I had a great time. This was the first event held by Rhino that I had attended (essentially because I don't have much interest in the indoor) and overall it went smoothly and as others have said hit calling and honor was 100% on point. I do have to echo some of Bear's issues about spawn points (confusion/camping and being told not to wait around) but otherwise I think things went well. I know there has been some controversy (as normally there is when anything paintball comes into our world, etc.), but based on this Saturday I would definitely attend future events that Rhino hosts. bipfog
Ok a lil late but I enjoyed the game and field. There was a lil confusion at times but that happens. We all can learn move forward and push to make things better. Happy late birthday to rhino.
Endgame
I shall ride the roads of Valhalla, shiny and chrome... And covered in welts...^^This...so much this^^ My best memory is Bear was out in Richmond, having a full blown conversation in the middle of a game and he goes "Hold on..", pulls his GBB and dumps half a mag into someone creeping up near us. Good times...good times.
