BRIFKI
Noob question from a noob.... So i was checking out an event on facebook and noticed that teams are divided by different camo they wear. So do you guys have multiple outfits just for events depending on which side you want to play on? Also, for those that play only at open play (not events), do you wear whatever (maybe colored armbands are used)?
Bear
Usually everyone starts with one color type(tan or green based, as those are the most commonly used to identify teams). Those who've been playing for a few years usually have at least two sets so they can be on either side should the need arise. Some bigger games will require certain patterns within those base color types (up to whoever is running the event based on a number of different reasons). And some people just like having a bunch of different gear. I currently own 6 different types of camo.
Joker
Bear nailed it. Typically players try to own at least one green based and one tan based camo uniform. That way they can choose which side they want to fight for. Both green and tan camos can be found relatively easy and cheap at your local Army Navy store. Bigger MilSim events may require a specific camo pattern but that will usually be stated in the event description. Open plays and the like are more relaxed in what you wear. The important thing is showing up to play and have a good time. All the fancy guns and gear will come with time. ~Joker
