Bear Posted February 17, 2016 Share Posted February 17, 2016 (edited) Decided to try my hand at making grips for my WE 1911a1. The material is Kato brand polymer clay. I blended black and white to get this effect, though I went a little too far and ended up with more gray than I wanted. The grips seem just as strong as the stock plastic grips. Aluminum would certainly be tougher to work with, but would make a nice piece. 3/8" is awful thick though. My stock grips were just under 1/4", so that's what I stuck with.
