Martyr
Have played with this guy and his friends quite a few times, and have never had any real problems. Traded a brand new battery for one of theirs, and got screwed over. The battery i traded for is only running at maybe a 7.2 level, and its a supposed 10.8. They promptly left the game in a local area right after the trade, stating that their batteries weren't working anymore. I tried to contact Lucas, to find a solution to this problem such as trading back. No response. Didn't seem very sportsman-like to me. Just be weary. I'm pretty sure they knew that the battery was junk upon trade. I'm not sure if he has an account on this site, but I've posted this on the INAC site as well. Quite sad to have to do this. Comrade S_Z
Pics of the battery? How did you determine the 7.2v power level theory?
hrturner
Pics of the battery? How did you determine the 7.2v power level theory? This plus, how many actual battery cells are there?
Martyr
There are a total of 9 cells, on this particular battery. 3 sitting side by side, for some reason or another i guess he soldered the end of the battery, which had been covered up by black tape when i had traded for it. The only thing I'm honestly going on about the 7.2 theory is that only 6 of the cells are actually functioning possibly. I put a 9.6 into my gun, fired on full auto. Put an 8.4 in my gun, fired on full auto. Put this 10.8 in my gun, fired on full auto. The difference is quite noticeable. Hopefully the situation is being resolved, and I'll delete this post if it does become resolved.
Comrade S_Z
That is probably the worst looking battery hack job I've ever seen. I would definately put the pressure on him to trade you back your new battery. At what game did you do this trade? What team is he with?Since there is no "Lucas" registered here, I'm guessing INAC? Martyr
We live in the same city, and my group of guys and their group of guys play at a local area any chance we can get. They're not very active on the INAC site but their team name is Bad Comapny i do believe. The Lucas individual is the best friend of the one who actually traded the battery. The one who traded the battery was named James and they're both from the Logansport area. They share equipment and usually all go in on equipment. James keeps dodging me, swearing that if he charges it, it'll perform flawlessly... but i'm pretty sure there is battery acid melted at two of the soldering points. Usually I've always been on pretty good terms with these guys until two days ago. Hopefully things can get resolved, and wrongs can be righted. I'm a very honest, easy going guy but if i would have traded this battery I'd have mentioned the horrible aspects of this particular one upon trade. hrturner
Yea wow.... I cant believe you agreed to trade for that.... From what I can see on the wiring, your theory is right. That battery is only wired up properly for a 7.2v configuration. It looks like the last bank of three doesn't have any wires soldered onto the bottom of it. I would get your trade back. Martyr
Everything thankfully was resolved and on good terms. He stated a few times that a smart charger wouldn't charge a battery of that voltage accurately and that it would need to be charged via wall charger. I disagreed, but he offered to trade the battery back to set things right and that's the route we took.
Comrade S_Z
I think he needs to read up on smart chargers.Glad he made it right, though.

Agreed, he may also want to read up on the laws of physics as well. Glad everything is squared away now!
