Well, recently, I bought a Troy M4 and a DBT PC from Alex, or beastmug. There were some issues already with the initial purchase that somewhat sucked. It was noted to be bought for a certain price, and about an hour into my drive to meet him, he made sure to restate the price, just this time $30 higher. There could be minor fault in myself by not confirming the price, but I still had it saved in a message 2 days before of the original price that included shipping which was much, much lower.

After all of this, the gun was completely broken. There was no way to test the gun really since the body pins were missing and he just gave it to me as the upper and lower receiver, but it wasn't of much concern to me since he was a fellow airsofter I played with sometimes. Broken hop-up, broken tappet plate, semi/full auto was non functioning, and the motor was just dangling in the pistol grip he installed (which I was charged extra for). It wasn't really this that bothered me, but what came after all this. I never really received much feedback from him, and it was really rough communicating. On top of this, he really refuses to help with the issues and won't negotiate anything whatsoever. You can't just sell someone a broken gun and refuse further assistance. Yeah, it happens to some people, but it shouldn't happen within the community of Airsoft Indiana. This post was by no means intended to start a flame war, just warning you what can happen when dealing with him. After all, this was a purchase to get me back into the sport once again, but I have no further interest in coming back again once I can get this waste sold off.

I try to consider myself friends of both parties and I applaud you for the courage to post up a negative review, despite any real or perceived pressure otherwise.

Please keep us informed of the resolution (if any). Bad transactions happen (I just had one on Airsoft Forum where the guy refused to send the Low Power Bolt on the MP7, even though I kept the posts, etc), and its really unfortunate that in a sport of honor, dishonor exists.

All I can hope for at this point is that by having this aired out, dialogue between you two will get better and you come to an amicable solution.

Please note** I am not assigning blame, since there is always two sides to a story.

It's unfortunate that I have to come on here and defend my slandered name by things that are untrue and misleading. If you take the time to read through my post and look at the pictures that are posted you will see that I am not a bad sell and see the false facts stated by Alvy.

It is true that Alvy drove an hour to meet with me, although the meeting was not a mutual agreement. Initially we agreed on the price to be $260 for one King Arms Troy as well as one DBT FAPC. Here is a text message between Alvy and I, where I clearly state the price of the package and he agrees to it.

He claims that I restated the price, only being "$30 higher." When I did send him the text stating the price being $260, he claimed it was supposed to be $240 and that I added an extra $20. Although, in his original post here he says I charged an extra $30. $30 higher would have been $270.

I should also note that I never said shipping was included. If you reference the fist text message in this post, you will clearly see that it says "$260 + shipping." Shipping was never included.

In Alvy's second paragraph, he tries to mislead you by saying "There was no way to test the gun really since the body pins were missing and he just gave it to me as the upper and lower receiver, but it wasn't of much concern to me since he was a fellow airsofter I played with sometimes." Doesn't this make you think I just gave him the gun in this condition without him having any prior knowledge? Thats how I read it. I specifically told him the gun would not be coming with body pins, as I could not find them. I took the price down $10 for that. I told him before the gun had no pistol grip, which he still agreed upon. He was going to buy one from a site, but I had one I told him id sell him for $10, bringing the package price back up to $260.

If the hop unit and tapate plate are both broken, then I think Alvy should post pictures. Rob (hrturner, the best tech in throughout the land and the owner of this site) and I cycled the gun to make sure everything was functioning properly, which it was. When the pistol grip was installed, the motor was not "dangling." He tries to make you think I did him wrong by charging him extra for the grip, although he was very willing to buy it and have it installed so he wouldn't have to order one from a store and do it on how own. I was doing him a favor.

Alvy said that refusing to help and communication was the worst part of this transaction. I may not have been the best with communication, its hard to deal with things like this when being a full time college student as well as working 25 hours a week with my job at the muncie hospital. He claims I refused any assistance, although even this is misleading and a lie. I went out of my way to send him another hop unit which he was not charged for. "You can't just sell someone a broken gun and refuse further assistance." The gun was not in this condition when it left. Don't forget the free hop unit I sent out to him to assist with the problem. Although he claims no assistance was given, which is a false statement yet again.

After just proving all of his statements to me false, I would like to add some extra points. Alvy claimed to have no idea how to work with AEGs. Although his friend, sent me an IM over Facebook saying he had no idea how to figure out a gearbox. How do any of you know he didn't break any of this stuff on his own?

The meet up we did was entirely his idea and was a spur of the moment. He tried to get me to meet him at places that were 30 minutes away from me telling me it was only 10 minutes from my house such as the Anderson airport and Daleville (which was claimed to be 2 minutes from me). The place we did end up meeting was claimed to be 2 minutes from my house although it was actually 20. The driving doesn't deter me, its how it was such a spur of the moment and so inconsiderate and that he was telling me where and when to meet him on his schedule. He also told me that "we would negotiate a price that would make us both happy," after a set price was already discussed.

Thank you, and have a nice day.

Alvy was mad he couldn't figure out the hopup/gearbox compression issue. The thing is, the weapon was supposed to work when you sold it to him.

You both should have met in a place where the weapon could be fired so that there's no issue of who did what (just to look at this objectively).

Sure he can have someone check out the gearbox and fix it but according to the posts above that's not how it was described and it wasn't described that way at the transaction when he handed you the cash. = Failed transaction either through communication or misinformation

Edit: Added details, fixed grammar, etc.

-Well if you look further in the texts, you can easily see where the price was definitely changed to $240.

-I never said anything about my knowledge with working with AEGs and gearboxes.

-Clayton did not send you an IM about what you said.

-Of course nothing was broken on my own because I haven't gotten a bullet to shoot out of the gun yet in a normal manner.

-You sent me a hop up that doesn't even work for this gun after delayed time and begging and begging you to send it.

Most importantly, I messaged Rob and he said he hasn't touched that Troy in forever, so I'm not sure what your statement is referring to by saying it works properly.

In the end, the gun is still broken, you still aren't replying, you still are refusing to refund someone for a false sale.

Sorry this is probably my fault as terminology may not be coinciding. To me touching a gun means messing with the internals of the gearbox. I did put all the loose parts back into the gun so that it was as put together as could be without the body pins.

The problem is Beastmug told Clayton he test fired it. Yes, this may be true, but not with bb's. He just dry fired it. It will dry fire all day, but that's about it. So no problem was solved there...

And, I still have yet to hear from Beastmug. He puts on some show here, but still doesn't respond to anything from me concerning the gun via text or whatever...

All the more reason to buy new... I keep telling you people... 240 or 260 could have set you up really nice with a brand new weapon... Hopefully, this can be worked out... If not, lesson learned I suppose

May I make a suggestion?

Since both buyer and seller look dissatisfied with the transaction, just return the gun and refund the monies?

Seems that this will make both equally happy and not happy. Wash your hands of this transaction and move on.

I wholeheartedly agree with this suggestion.

Unfortunately, this problem happened and still does happen in the Illinois boards all the time. This is also why there is a large majority or us that stay off of the Illinois, drama filled, boards.

Guys, please just exchange the money and gun back, both parties say they are sorry, and move on. Otherwise there will always be some bad blood that will cause problems that we as a community don't need.

And if I may respectfully request: moderators please lock this thread, and force this to be done in pm's. It embarrassing for both parties.

  • 2 weeks later...

Had some other members talk to him to convince him to respond, and he eventually did a few days later. After some discussion and such it was finally met to return the gun and refund the money a week or so later.
