Endgame
You mean to tell me that you guys haven't already started this? I'll jump it off then. Pros:Awesome fieldMeeting MORE new facesPutting MORE faces to namesSeeing ALL A.I. forum staff at one game (felt good to see that one)Seeing lots of vets and new players alike come out for some 'pew-pew'No conflict or drama (always good)Watching Stalker eat cat food and seeing Harvest's face in the aftermath of it all. (Hands down, best moment of the day) Cons:Mosquitoes........enough saidLots of hits not being called (we need to stop that practice)Mildly flaring tempers (my own included)And lastly, but definitely not least...........I didn't get to put Pablo's meat in my mouth....everyone else had his meat in their mouth at one time, but I didn't get the chance.

Mars
This was a great game, The attendance doubled our max for the last game and got to see lots of new and familiar faces. The PLM completely dominated the game thanks to our "traitor" and thank you Flash for nominating him XO, which gave us an even bigger advantage. I was promoted to XO half-way through the game after COL. Stalwart was assassinated. I had a great time in my first command position and it went well. We unfortunately were not able to eliminated the CM, since they retook the Silo building with 3 seconds left in the game. Pros:1. I was promoted to XO and led the PLM to victory along with our CO Joker,2. We had a traitor who was also the CM XO and eventually the CM CO who helped us a lot.3. And of course, I killed Big Altes. Cons:1. CM retook the Silo building with 3 seconds to go.2. A lot of people do not understand the requirements for an honorable bang kill, nor do they understand the limits of a bang kill.3. The contractors (other than the Peacewalkers) changed teams a lot, even though the CM could not buy them since they had no money or comms. All in all it was a great game and I can't wait till March for the mini op and September for the next big game.
Joker
First I would like to thank Poncho and the rest of SIPA for hosting this event. Second if you did not get on the roster or did not show up to this game then I think you missed out on a great time. Indiana has had a lot of great games this year but this one is is towards the top of that list. Despite being sick I had a blast. It was good to see all the "old" faces out playing as well as putting some names with new faces. It has also been a really really long time since I was the XO or even CO at an event. Let alone both the XO and CO in the same event lol. Its good to know I can still do that even after so long of not doing it when I need to. Also having a bounty on my head for the entire game was a lot of fun, although its really no different then every other game I attend. Pros:The field is always fun and always improving.Weather was great.Players in attendance. Most players positive attitude. The bounty on my head. Objectives were fun, even if we never really completed any.PLM comms for the most part were great. Especially Mars, he was on top of comms all day and did a great job!Stalwart did a great job of being CO at the beginning of the game.KillCam being a traitor to the CM and a damn good one at that.Rogue's role playing, very well done as always.Vacceo grilled, need I say more.Getting to play with some long time friends. Got to put my pistol to good use.Poor STALKER... Cons:It ended. I am sure I am forgetting a few things. Again Poncho great job planning and executing this event. This was bigger then what you are used to hosting so far but you did a great job with everything. I would say its safe to assume to plan for bigger next year. Thanks everyone for coming out to shoot with and at me. I will post the handful of pics I took in a new thread. ~Joker
BigAltes
So I have been trying to get down and play on poncho field for a long time, and I sure am glad that I did.UP'sPoncho, need I say moreperfect weatherno breaks during gameField = nice mix of path's,cover, & open aresseeing a lot of players with there full kits onliked the ratio of new/younger players and vets letting everybody shoot my ass, especially JOKERgood day for me to do my loon-wolf thing and get behind the opfor DOWN'sPoncho not playingnot a big fan of mercs or contractors, but that's just me.Hit calling issues, now I'm not talking about the usual ones that you have when players are 150 feet apart, but I was shooting semi most of the day, and had a few guys that were only 30 feet away, I would give them a nice double tap, then move on the the next(why do you think I wold stop shooting at you), but apparently some players you need just a few more shots. Cmon guys it is no big deal to call yourself out. I get killed more than anybodyGood news was it was mostly the new/younger players that were doing it, they will get better at calling. It was a great day to run around in the woods having fun, thank you poncho for letting me come down.
Archfiend
I want to thank Poncho and his team for this great event, I had alot of fun. PRO'sGood weather, goggles didn't fog once.I think Poncho did a great job as a EONo BreaksI enjoyed the fieldMeeting new people and putting names to facesRunning with rob, Dragon, Eagle, Peli, Pablo and Endgame. CON'sTrigger Discipline, I watched my Squad get lit up by two green all over, and several were head shots, While my squad was talking to Poncho, Poncho went over and said something to them, but it shouldn't of happened.Friendly fire, there were several occasions when we came under fire by friendly's, people need to remember to make sure its enemy before they fire, you need to have visual on your target before you spray into trees and brush.Losing Eagle and Peli at about 2 ish, and didn't see them again till the endBang kills, people need to use it properly. you can't run into a room yelling bang, bang, bang. I'm just going to shoot you.People not calling hits, i know it happens everywhere, but when it takes 5 shots for you to call your hit when your only 4 foot from me inside a building, come on, then you tell your squad where it came from, Dead men don't talk! Overall i think Poncho did a great job at setting this up, the only thing i think he needs to improve on going over rules at the briefing in the beginning. Roy Boy
pros all around great failing at my one chance to capture joker my gun didnt break down getting a new gun shooting stalker for the first time great way to meet him cons like said friendly fire and yes i did shoot a teammate from time to time my bad getting shoot by mod squad that all around sums it up though afterwards i was severely dehydrated and lost my stomach and over all wasted. nice meeting all the people on the forum who attended. starblade54
so, to answer Mars thing about the Contractors, we were TOLD directly from Poncho to assist one team or another. not our doing in the slightest, it was all orders from Poncho himself. Ups:Had a blast getting my kill on against EVERYONE...thank you to Poncho for that onegot some funny moments rolling with Rogue (nothing more comical than seeing Rogue with no gun running at someone waving his arms and yelling like an idiot )enjoyed getting some good handgun kills (hey, wouldnt be a good game if i didnt get a few of those haha)Shooting Peli in the back. getting told by Poncho to assist the CM to take the Silo, and having to enter and clear part of it myself since they were to afraid or something Downs:had a couple of bang kill issues, if you dont have your gun up ready to shoot me, it is not a double bang kill. i dont care who you are. you also cant bang kill my pistol also, if i bang kill you outside the silo just by myself, please dont cut respawn time corners and come in immediately behind me, that shits not cool in the slightest.had one rather annoying issue of dead men dont talk at the end, but that wasnt too much an issue.Im not sure if poncho explained the MED's (isolated issue) or the "No full-auto inside buildings" or not as we had an incident inside the Silo about that, thankfully no one was hit or hurt. Aside from that, i had a blast, esp when it just being myself and another squadmate StreetGang, who occupied a good portion of the PLM about 1300 (you guys were such great hosts ) Thanks to Poncho for asking my squad to be the Contractors, we had a blast stirring up trouble where ever, more than one poor soul was willingly taken by us into battle and then left Until next year gents!
Spectre
With this being what I would consider my first legitimate game I gotta say it sure was a blast! I had a great time playing with my friends and meeting a couple new people! Pros:No breaksTeamwork (for the most part)Felt like a bossTaking and holding practically all of the CM territoryHolding down one side of the silo down the Pope Cons:My original gun broke down a couple days before the opGot split up from my squad a lotGot captured by royboy Some people not calling their hitsMy lip reading skillls are apparently lackingI feel the medics were kind of confused at the beginningWish I could have gotten to talk to and meet more people Overall though this was a great op. I'm fairly new to all this but I feel like I learned a lot. Like not bang killing starblade's pistol, (what can I say? FN Pope told me to shoot any and everything and your pistol kinda falls under that catagory ) I'm looking forward to playing with all of you again and hopefully in the near future! Stalwart
had a couple of bang kill issues, if you dont have your gun up ready to shoot me, it is not a double bang kill. i dont care who you are. To clarify this, we all had our guns on you and we also don't HAVE to take the bang kill. We very well could have just shot you. Be thankful that we didn't. Rhino
ups:got to play medic, which I love to doAlways love Poncho's fieldNew gun to useDidn't have the experience marred by any major problemsGood pile of people Downs:On the CM side from my perspective covering people's backs as medic, Things seemed to get very confused. No one knew when comms were up or down half the timeObjectives seemed to just get thrown out the window after a pointComms down contributed to a "fog of war" I guess I saw from my perspective(Personal peeve) Squads didn't stay together and I wasn't able to keep with them to keep them all upHere's the big one I didn't like: No one set security - without the comms going, squads would move up and spread out as they did, gaps would be left and they'd end up getting swept from the flank. As medic, I'd be spraying and shouting first in the back the several times this happened to me. But as an up: it did let the military types explain the purpose of and how to set security to the other players.Oh, and the part in the silo at the end there was a total clusterf*** BTW, I loaned out my scar during the game and the guy lost the buttplate, so if anybody comes across it, you'd be my favorite person ever. Stalwart
First of all, Thank You Poncho for a very well ( And detailed) planned day. I know you went to a lot of time and effort setting this up for us. Kudos!!!!! I had a blast! The cons are many and all of them have already been mentioned. I agree with all of them and glad so many people had a good time.I want to thank Matt (Flash) for being a worthy adversary, at least while we were both alive . lolI think that KillCam was awesome in his role as traitor/double agent/overall troublemaker! You did a great job.Kudos to Mars and Joker for assuming command of the PLM after my departure, You both did a fantastic job that reflects great credit upon yourselves and tothe PLM. You have my Thanks.Thank You to ALL the PLM and CM Players. You helped my first attempt at CO go as smoothly as it can go! I do not have any cons ( other than i wish i had brought a steak so I Too could have some of Pablos Meat!, maybe next year.) I was talking with one of the new players and told him the best way to play this game is to Have Fun, don't take yourself too seriously, play safe, show respect and most of all, CALL YOUR HITS. You will be respected and eventually known as a good person to play with. That is how you make friends and build teamwork! Thanks again to Poncho and everyone that showed up. I cannot wait until spring 2013!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Stalwart Out!
KillCam
I hope that everyone can trust my AAR here lol. Thanks Poncho for the great event! Pros: 1. So many people!2. Taking on the traitor role, and then being promoted to CM XO after that. Whew! Double role. That was exhausting!3. The traitor plan actually working out! Even had the mercs thinking I was a double agent.4. The grillout at the end was really nice. Thanks Vacceo for doing that. Cons: 1. Didn't record anything on my "KillCam". Errrgghhh. So..........I guess.....you can.......call me "Two-Face"
Eagle
I'll keep it simple: Pro's:-Fun field, a definite favorite.-Enjoyable missions, had fun assaulting and defending.-Seeing friends/good weather-No breaks for lunch or anything like that Con's:-Can't stand the use of mercs/contractors. Too confusing for a K.I.S.S. op, and too annoying in general for anything airsoft.- Major issues with honor in general. People not calling hits, abusing medic/respawn rules, calling people out for "not taking hits" on articles of clothing they weren't even wearing. Had a couple of issues with dead men talking. On my team people would walk back to respawn dead and try to tell us how many enemies were ahead and their pos. On the other team I overheard the same type of things.-"Bang rules"... Unless you have the 100% complete drop on the enemy (back turned, weapon lowered, etc), don't use it. You are not allowed to run into a room yelling "bang bang bang" at everything that moves. This is the most abused rule at airsoft games i have ever seen. A bang kill is not a "tactical kill" or a way of avoiding your poor CQC skills and blaming them on "safety"- this is an activity based on physically shooting the enemy. Quit cutting corners.-Changing rules, apparently the spawn and medic rules changed and were different from the mercs than everyone else? I don't think this is fair because you can't tell every person, mid game, that the rules have changed. I know some rules may need changing to keep the game flowing better, but its not fair for some people to be advantaged by public rules that only a select few know about.
hrturner
I know I was told not to do one but I think that would be irresponsible of me. Thanks poncho for a fun time! I wish I would have remembered to bring some steak for pablo to grill up for me! We need a full fledged steak-fest again. Pro's* Weather was amazing* Weirding Archfiend out on the trip down to the field, * Pistol action in the silo* Pistol duals with Starblade after the game* Meeting a lot of the new players on the boards Con's* Contractors/Mercs - The idea is cool but I have never seen implementation go well.* Bang kills - I don't think this was addressed during the briefing well enough. Bang kills, as many have mentioned, are a courtesy not a mandate and they should never be used as a substitute for you not have a weapon to enter buildings. If you dont have a weapon shooting under the MED you dont enter buildings.* Knife kills - In order to knife someone you have to physically TAP them with the knife. You cant come around a corner and yell bang...* Calling others hits - You know everyone preaches that you shouldn't do it, yet everyone still does it. I dont get it.* Changing of rules - This is something that should never be done in a game. You will never be able to get the word out to all the players on the field and those who play by the original rules will think that others are cheating and it will greatly cause tempers to fly! All-in-All I'll be back to Poncho's field again!
PELI
I had a good timeprosgreat weathergood seeing some faces I have not seen in a yearHolland and his shovel over all good sportsmanship cons sticker bushesbeesBass not bringing his sister or a pic of her the battery dieing on my camera pretty quick got home and looked at the footage and I had turned it on right when I had put the batteries I have a hour of footage of us getting ready to play like stated in other posts above blatant non hit calling part of it is I think people wear soo much shit they cannot feel it and with louder guns I can see people not hearing it. also I want to say that the brush is very thick out there and you might think your shooting someone when in fact your BBs are ricocheting of of twigs and branches. I had to yell at a few players when they got shot and pulled their red rag that they had to wait the 3 min bleed out I saw many players walk of back towards their re spawn right after being shot maybe the rules should have been explained right before the game started so it was fresh in players minds. also friendly fire counts!!! same crap happened at blind fury this year and a guy gave me a pissy look when I had told him he was dead after he had been cursing at his own teammates about them shooting him. a hit is a hit call it no matter where it came from like other people have stated the contractor thing is annoying and fubars most games. camo rules must be enforced and players should abide the camo rules set if you run green, wear green not a green top and bluejeans camo is real cheap for woodland and tri color ebay you can find uniforms for under 30$ even under 20$ over all I had a great time. Sky Marshal Harvest
My only two complaints were; Mercs/Contractors: Third parties in airsoft games are better off as civilians. In todays war zones, Contractors take a contract for a prolonged period of time, and do not turn immediately on the payor. That's terribly bad for business. Personally I don't like third parties, I like good ole fashioned fist fights and barn burners. The whole changing teams and sides over and over again just about culminated in a kid getting butt stroked by myself and about six others from thirty feet away which results in... Bang Kills: If I am thirty feet away, shoot my fat ass, don't yell YOUR DEAD AND YOUR DEAD AND YOUR ALIVE. Buddy, I have been fire fighting for nine years, I've been on fire god knows how many times, fallen off roofs, through floors, been mauled by bath salts zombies, please, shoot me, it's ok I can take it. I was wearing CVC Helmet, a face protector, and a plate carrier with plates. It's ok to shoot me from thirty feet away. I have the footage of said event on video, and really, kid you should have just shot me. Not to mention I was in the middle of dealing with a fire fight, and the contractors, right after which I walk through three green guys that are 'on our side', to have a green guy come behind our group and yell BANG BANG BANG. Nope, that don't fly, you're lucky I was in fairly good mood and there wasn't a resulting mag dump. I am with the camp that thinks that if you can get within five feet of someone, you can knife kill them. Especially not a whole group. That is in my opinion, a cop out. Your knife kill will also be much more exhilarating than shouting BANG. Other than that, I have no complaints. The field is amazing, the game was fun, and good times were had. I look forward to returning to events and having such a nice woodsy field in southern Indiana, of that size.

ConsThis has been beat to death but ContractorsMisuse of bang killsHits not being calledNot having any clue what my objective was for most of the dayWearing a blue shirt, it was to my understanding that PLM was to be a civi loadout so i was a little dissappointed that more players were rocking tan I cant wait for the next installment of this op, thanks to poncho for working me in when the field was full and to all that helped make it happen
SpecOps Samurai
Pros:Great reffing.Great WeatherGreat field, prefect ambush spots.Great time playing first airsoft gameGetting to meet people from the forumsPlaying with awesome teams like: Iron Brigade, and Spartan (Sorry, I know there were more then them, but they are the ones i was with the most.)Seeing other players kits. ( I was on CM side in Green shirt and ACU pants, sorry new to airsoft and wasnt kitted properly, wont happen agian)Gun orked, lol. (Was worried to batteries wouldnt last.)At one point I had lost a mag(M4) and another player found it and got it right back to me. I heard this happen a few times on the field. That is an awesome community to help each other out like that. And i'm gald to be part of it. Cons:I wish some of the rules had been explained better (IE: Bang Kill, Medics, and Bleedout)It was explained to me that you didnt move for 3 minutes due to bleed out, and that a medic had to come to you, or you "dragged" to one. I saw multiple time where people would just walk out of the silo where their medic was waiting and get banaged, and come right back in. I thought that if you moved that you were to go to your base to respawn and not re-enter combat til respawned.Bangkills - if you cant see me its not a kill, right?Contractors - some people have it explained so i wont. Not being able to do any of Poncho's missions. Comrade S_Z
Thank you Poncho and the S.I.P.A. crew for holding this awesome game. I can tell you guys put a lot of work into it and the field, and we had a great time. Many good memories for sure. We will be back on Oct 27th for the night game. Pros:- Seeing nearly all the core members of AI, and a lot of new faces.- The weather was perfect, couldn’t ask for a better day.- The field was amazing, I’d say one of the best I’ve played on of that size.- Harvest and I ran with some newer AI players; STALKER, Fusion, Wichita, and Smoke. They all did very well, adapted quickly, and were very respectful of other players. I was genuinely impressed.- Everyone on PLM worked well together.- PLM Command Structure. Stalwart, Joker, and Mars did excellent jobs.- STALKER making Harvest speechless.- Pablo grilling out. This should be a requirement for any large AI game.- Comrade Holland breaking out the Spetsnaz shovel for some knife kills. Cons:- Had an issue with a Contractor barking orders out at our younger PLM players. It wasn’t polite suggestions either, it was akin to yelling at them like a scolded dog. I have very little patience for this. We’re here to have fun, not to have a middle-aged man who takes BB gun wars too seriously yelling at young kids like they’re idiots. That may be the norm in your circle, but it’s not tolerated at AI games. You will respect ALL players here, or you will be asked to leave.- Bang-kills. I would honestly like to see the AI community completely abolish Bang-kills at games. I have never had to use one, and have never seen one legitimately used. I had never heard of Bang-kills the first 4 years we held large scale games, and am still puzzled why they became popular. If they’re too close to shoot, knife kill them with your hand.- Contractor roles. Already beaten to death. They eliminated them at Blind Fury this year, and for good reason.- Trigger control. 15rd bursts are absolutely ridiculous. Everytime I got killed, I was hit multiple times before I could even yell out hit, and many times afterwords. When you have a clear bead on someone, hit them with a short burst (or even better semi-auto), and give them a chance to call it. If not, repeat short burst. This is not a hard concept.- Bleed out times. I saw this rule abused more than any other. Players need to be reminded in the briefing, and by CO’s and SL’s in field. The PLM Command did an excellent job of this, and I didn’t see a single PLM player not follow this rule.- Like a dumbass, I rolled up my sleeves again. Poison ivy from bicep to wrist on both arms.
Poncho
Pros:1.No major real world injuries2. Perfect weather3. Good people and good food Cons:1.Alot of hit calling issues2.Late start (Chrono issues and emergency call)3. Not enough Admin Theres so much to say, but I'll hit the highlights. One person realized that the Op was anything but simple. That wasnt an accident. This was originally for a smaller attendance(I couldnt say no). The number of people that showed was more than double what last years was and kinda messed with what was originally supposed to happen. Now, I take all credit for the good, and all blame for the bad. This was my 3rd Op to host and by far the largest. Originally contractors were to be "hired" by either team(like last year). However, with the amount of players, missions not completed, and the behind the scenes senario, it wasnt possible to effectively do this. Me and Starblade have been talking about this for a year, and it wasnt going to work the way we planned it. So as the EO I decided the contractors would work for the C.M. However with Killcam effectively pulling off the traitor role chaos insued. To further confusion on the field I and I alone told the contractors to destroy the C.M.s comms. Which they did which caused even more chaos. Good news, next year will have no contractors. Next. Rules. I agree I did not clarify the rules good enough. I had them wrote out and left the paper at the house. I also have a bad habit of assuming everyone reads everything like I do, and already know the basic rules of airsoft. I can assure you this will not happen again. Hit calling. Several of people were pointed out to me. I am ashamed to say a couple of them are part of S.I.P.A. and I WILL address this issue. I appreciate everyone coming out. Thanks for all the pros and cons. I will strive to make next years game even better than this years. Special thanks to Flash, Killcam, Starblade, Vacceo (it was delicious), Joker, SZ, Stalwart, Peli, Mars, Dalton, Taylor, Bobert, and Tim.

dragon
Pros: 1. Finally getting to play again.2. Gun has stayed reliable and accurate.3. Played alongside some excellent players. Cons:1. Absolutely lack of trigger discipline. All but 1 of my deaths I was shot in excess of 20 times.2. This is an honor sport. Just because you mag dumped me after I shot you in the face, it still means you're dead.3. Maybe those players hold down the trigger for 5-10 seconds because they won't call a hit unless that's done to them. Sportsmanship such as this is absolutely ruining this sport for me. It's not fun at all to get the drop on people and center mass two people before they know I'm there, only to have them both mag dump on me 3 seconds later then act like I'm an asshole. People need to leave their ego at the doorstep and just play the game allowing everyone a chance to have fun. By the way I want to point out, most of the people who I saw lacking sportsmanship are not members of forums that I know, nor players I've played with before. Is this an interesting new trend? Poncho, do you know what K.I.S.S. stands for? lol I like your field a lot, I think you did pretty well hosting but the safety and rules briefing was either too short or missing completely. Clear and concise rules explained at the event is key, IMO. If people are counted on to read the event, then most will be clueless. Normally I only read the safety, MED's, etc,. but not the back story into an event. I didn't list the contractors as a Con, though most of the time they are. I do enjoy games with a third party but I VERY RARELY see a game now where it's just one team against another. Overall, I had fun but man do people really try to ruin it for you! Glad I got to meet some of the newer players and a couple of the Guffies from Kentucky. Also it's a good time seeing another polar star on the field wreaking havoc.
