Smoke
Overall, this was a pretty fun match, but there were some concerns that I'd like to address:Not wearing goggles-This is bad. I don't care if you "can't see anyone with them on.", you still need to wear them. They aren't fun for anyone but they will save your eyesight. Such a blatant disregard for this rule was outrageous. I don't think Royboy or Ciarn saw this, but I saw two people playing with their goggles on their heads. Also, I saw a guy get shot at when the match first started when he wasn't wearing facee protection. Nothing the EO can do about it except from addressing it in the breifing. 2. Waiting too long in between matches- To start off, we got started an hour late, and as it got better as the day went on, we took too long in between matches to rest. This lead to my next concern. 3. Walking too much- After every match, I must say walking back to the FOB sucked. Took too long, and tired us out before/after every match played. (A solution to 3 may be moving the FOB closer to the field.) 4. Acting immature around kids- Common guys, as a whole we ALL have to do better on this one. There's 9-10 year old kids there. This match can really determine whether they want to continue the sport, or not, and I don't think that cussing around them about not calling hits or whatever is the best way to show them that this is a great sport we all know and love. Another thing, I saw a 15-year old girl smoking around them. That's when an EO should step-up and tell her to stop, that's a no-no. 5. Communication- Some matches, it failed us. For example, when I'm the only one out of a team of 7 playing, it's time to put the match on hold. Someone needs to tell the EO that the majority of the team is reloading or had their gun go down, so we can get it fixed instead of sitting around wasting time. Overall, I think that this match was pretty good, but has a few lessons that we can all learn from. Personally, I thought Infection was the highlight of the day, but I think that instead of merely touching a "dead" person to make them a part of your team, a count to 30 should be necessary. Hit calling actually wasn't one of the issues of the main game (though everyone who participated in the skirmish after most people left could tell Lumpless wasn't calling his last hit ), and I don't think the sleeves were necessary with maybe 15 people playing. If someones shooting at you, chances are they aren't on your team. Good job Royboy annd Ciarn, I hope to play at VBR in the future.

Secondly this is a good AAR. But I would like to address a couple things. # 1. I agree completely that all players should keep their goggles on while on the field. The part where you say there is nothing the EO can do about it except cover it in the briefing is wrong. If the EO see's it he can give them a warning or even remove them from that game the first time. If it happens a second time the EO can ask that player to leave and or not come back. The last thing anyone wants to have happen is a player lose an eye and a parent to try and sue someone. IF the EO does not see it then it becomes your job to step up and say something to the player and let the EO know about it DURING the game, not after. Your # 2 is something that happens at pretty much most games that have "rounds" which is why I prefer a more MilSim game that is continuous. Its something I even have trouble with at my games. Your # 4 I agree with and disagree with. Yes there is a time and place for everything and while I agree that excessive cussing is a little uncalled for, airsoft is in fact an ADULT game. Kids are not even technically allowed to purchase airsoft guns. But if parents think their kids can handle airsoft guns safely and are mature enough to play with complete strangers then some cussing wont kill them. Is it necessary? No. Will it happen more often then not? Yes. Again great AAR and I hope the EO learns from this. Take my opinions just as that, my opinions, not everyone may agree. ~Joker
Smoke
Thanks, Joker. I was wrong about #1, but I was talking about if the EO didn't see it. I also agree that this is an adult game, but again, the cussing was a little excessive and seemed unneccessary.
Smoke
Side note: I lost a mock suppressor and red death rag while playing, so if anyone finds either of them (preferably the suppressor ) that'd be great to get back.
werfer
I think I have to agree with you that the Infection game at the end was the most fun. Very fast paced and chaotic (in a good way). I kind of liked that touching someone was an instant revive because it helped keep the game going extremely fast which was a nice change of pace from the other games. Now that you mention it, I can see how #5 was a problem. I remember during the territory defense game that we played the attackers were completely spawn-trapped. At the time, I thought they had just given up but now that I've read your post I realize that must be the game you're referring to where you were the only one playing. #2 and #3 were a little annoying and yeah, we probably should've had the FOB closer to the playing field. As far as #1 goes, I never saw it happen but assuming that it did, I completely agree with you. #4 I gotta agree with Joker for the most part. I tried to watch my own behavior around them but ultimately, it's up to the judgement of the parent. All in all, I had a great time. It was a nice casual event which is when I find that I usually have the most fun.

I kind of liked that touching someone was an instant revive because it helped keep the game going extremely fast which was a nice change of pace from the other games. The fast paced action was fun, but I had one problem with it. Royboy and Ciarn were on a team and advancing on my position. While they were advancing, I hit them each a couple times. This is where I faced a problem; I only managed to get one person at a time, so the other was able to go and revive the downed teammate. This continued until I got out. werfer
Ha, yea I saw that happen but I kinda liked that. It gives you incentive to stay with your teammates but if you're too close you could both get out at the same time. And it keeps the gameplay ridiculously chaotic. Smoke
I know this is late next time I will watch glasses/goggles more carefully anything you guys would want to see or have changed for the next game/s I think that more rounds of Infection would be fun. Also, maybe some Capture the Flag and more Attack and Defend.
