Just Out Of Curiosity

So I am curious, are there any types of gear that should not be brought to an Airsoft game?

Such as specific attire, guns, little extra things in that sense.

I ask because the only real Airsoft guns I own for playing is my M60, and my SAR10 sniper, not to mention my gear consists currently of a simple vest and I was thinking of a cool looking steel helmet (with glasses of course) to go along with the heavy look of the M60.

Any opinions or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

There is a substantial list of things to not bring to an airsoft game, some fields will have different rules than others, but typically you should not have with you.... unsecured real firearms, drugs, dead hookers, home-made bombs, falsified tax returns, real bio weapons, the mattress tag you ripped off, or other illegal artifacts.

But seriously, other than dangerous and illegal things, there isn't much you CAN'T bring with you. Some fields do prohibit hot pyrotechnics (fuze+ match = boom or poof), and I have heard some grumblings about carrying a real fighting knife on kit. Most of the guidelines regarding what is and isn't allowed revolves around safety, so if you are packing your stuff and wonder if you should bring it, ask yourself, what will I use this for and is it dangerous to me or anyone else. If you are not sure, then either ask here in advance, or leave it at home and ask about it at the game for the next one.

Aside from that, I noticed you mentioned having glasses with the helmet; a lot of fields do require full seal goggles (some allow stamped steel). The reason for this is liability and the safety of your eyes, much of the community has deemed shooting glasses dangerous and therefore they would not be usable at most games.

Alrighty thank you, I do have a pair of goggles if that is the only problem, my only concern is that they fog up every time I use them, but I can figure out a way around that if needed.

Goggle fogging is a common problem. They make anti-fog wipes, spray, and some people swear by spit or rubbing a potato on the lens. Eventually, if you are serious about playing alot, I'd suggest investing in the goggles with a fan, like the ESS turbos. They are pricey though and if you are so inclined, you can rig a small cpu fan with a 9volt onto your existing goggles.

Check these out for your goggle fogging issues:

As far as things NOT to have, no illegal drugs (things you may be prescribed and need, are fine), and running around with a real firearm on you is just not ok, unless you are going to an event that allows blank fire and thats another barrel of banans.  But in general, leave any CCW stuff in your POV.

If you want a good idea of 'items' you need, look up the Milsim West TACSOP.

That item list is geared towards a 40 hour non-stop military simulation event, but if you work towards squaring that stuff up, you will be good to go for any amount of time playing BB wars.

One thing that has worked for me and still works for me if you have ESS or Revision goggles:

There is a foam lining on the top (and bottom if they're ESS).  Tear that out.  I did that one year at Irene and never looked back.  Haven't had fogging issues yet.

Now, I also have a pair of Smith Optics Boogie Regulators that I absolutely love but they fog like mad.  The only thing that I can think of to fix those is to remove the sliding cover at the top of those and take a drill bit to widen the holes only a little bit to increase the air flow.
