Advice On Molle Pouch For Chest Rig

Rex

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased the Condor MCR5 Recon Chest Rig (link below). So far, I've use the rig once and I am quite pleased with how it retains my magazines and allows me a great deal of freedom in movement. However, I've found that I'm still missing the miscellaneous storage capacity of my old tactical vest (very bulky and cheaply made). In order to address this, I'd like to purchase a molle pouch/bag that is relatively thin, but large enough to cover the majority of the space provided on the side of the rig. Essentially, I'm looking for advice on specific molle pouches that will give me a good amount of storage but will not stick out further than a few inches. Thanks!

I bought some HSGI Taco pouches from Vacceo a couple of years back and don't regret getting them.  The retention on them is a little tight but adjustable.  Mine are double-stack so they sit out about 3 inches from my MAV surface.  I'm almost certain that single stack tacos are available if that's what you're looking for.

I run 3 single mag tacos on the front of my JPC, and couldn't be happier with them, even with their price tag. They'll fit just about any mag you want, I've set ak47, ak74, m4, m14, scar-h, and even G36 mags in these pouches with no issues. All you have to do is adjust the retention straps on each pouch.

Thank you or the suggestion. I wasn't very specific in my original post but I'm really looking for miscellaneous molle bags that will allow me to store additional bb's, dead rag, tools... etc.

Admin pouch comes in handy for little items. For BBS I use Walmart brown mustard bottles.. Cheesy yes but fits a m4 pouch perfectly. Makes a good way to carry ammo in a existing pouch. Medic pouches are also small and flat and make good extra pouches

Utility pouches are good too, i use a horizontal condor utility pouch for my misc tools and spare bbs, works great for me.

I was looking at the horizontal Condor pouch but I don't think it will work on my chest rig very well due to it being on my sides. I'm currently considering the Condor Sidekick since it is nearly as tall as the aide of my rig and should have enough storage.

Maybe like an IFAK or something of the sort. Personally I run light rigs that are pretty basic, because after putting so much on, I realize that I dont use most of the crap. For bigger Games I just run my mags on a rig and then an assault pack for anything that dosent need to be accessed quickly.

I have a small utility/hydrobladder pouch that I strap to my back and if I need anything, I ask a teammate to help me out. I keep my spare bbs in a sriracha bottle for bigger games.  I just run my mags in the front, drop pouch on the side, utility/hydro  pouch in the back, hydro bladder in the vest, and utilize my pockets. That seems to get me by, but for bigger games, I will bring a backpack onto the field and stage it at a FOB with some cheaper necessities.

I run a Condor Sidekick on my JPC (on the side webbing) and I like it a lot.  I usually have my pocket knife, M4-style speed loader, a small bottle of BBs, electrical tape, and a backup mini battery in there and it fits them comfortably.
