Psycho
What are the rules if any regarding projectiles for anti-armor weapons. Nerf rockets suck buttermilk. There are multiple tennisball launchers out there pre-made. Why not use tennis balls?I have also looked at spongy practice golf balls. They are lighter and would pose less of a kinetic energy risk if mishandled. Edited March 7, 2016 by Psycho

Tennis ball hits some one in the temple, they will see stars. Kinda why we rather have nerf balls/ rockets. Lesser chance of injury.
Darth
How exactly do nerf rockets suck? I get 100 yards out of mine. And I'm just usin nerf. There are some new models that are even better. Plus they don't hurt nearly as bad when you get hit with them. Edited March 9, 2016 by Darth
PELI
when I messed with a 203 for a few events I used the practice golf balls they don't fly straight most of the time, I ended up poking a hole through the ball and putting a 1 foot length of para cord through it for a streamer I had also messed with adding weight to the inside of it but deemed that to be unsafe! Psycho
wait...100 yards launching a nerf rocket from a 203 grenade launcher?Nope! 5-10 yards at most.I've been doing this for 7 years. I made a launcher tube from PVC pipe fired with compressed air, and have tried several different nerf pipes, tubes, rockets, footballs... etcI could fire 100 yards but not with reliability and repeatable results.I had to aim over the target by what I consider excessive amount. But it shoots at least 30yd with nerd rocket accurately. Was shooting trash cans with it.
Darth
Not a 203. A pvc launcher. I was able to hit the now 2 story building at blast camp from the hill top. If you are familiar with that field. According to google earth that was 295'. But that is a rough estimate. But you are correct. Not super repeatable. I was looking at the Havok launcher. Runs on either co2 or hpa. But is $300. But the breach load feature is pretty nice.

Darth
So for the past few days I have been working on a new launcher. I did the co2 style from the kipkay YouTube video. I also added a Glock frame to it for a pistol grip. Also the rail is a good camera point. Or something dumb like a laser. Testing with nerf vortex pocket footballs. I was able to get one to go almost 450'. Not super consistent. But she will get the job done.
Bear
I looked at his design, looks pretty easy but it has some flaws. Having the c02 pass through that long tube then around a right angle would cause a drop in power. It'd be better if the valve and cartridge was directly behind the ammo. I looked at another design that had the air going directly behind the ammo. But it added an couple extra parts. And didn't seem as sturdy. Bear
There are trade offs, to be sure. I'm toying with a design of my own, I just need to find some decent valves for it.
