targetpractice
I picked this up for less than $50 on ebay, so I'm not expecting perfection, but I am a bit perplexed by the barrel on my M9. The inner barrel seems to have about 1/4" of movement in the outer barrel. I'm not sure if it's by design of it there's supposed to be a spacer in there. I haven't taken the outer barrel assembly apart yet (though the inner barrel slides out of it easily when I take it off the slide. Is this how it's supposed to be? targetpractice
OK, never mind, it's supposed to shift a bit like that. Apparently it's a proprietary system as well. I'll just tinker around with it and see if I can add a little spacer to it.
-Rogue-
A single layer of electrical tape works very well to fix most of the issues. If the electrical tape is too sticky and causes cycling issues, go with masking tape. It will usually be good to have two full layers of masking tape. hrturner
Orings work really well too.
-Rogue-
Turner, good point. Do not use sticky clear orings you can find at hobby stores. They have a tendency to roll around and get stuck. Get a pack of the black orings used for faucets at a Lowes or Home Depot for $3 and find a the size that does not impede cycling while stabalizing the barrel. To test, fire a full mag. If you do not have any malfunctions in one mag, you likely will not have one during a game. For best results, a little rubber cement will hold the oring in place ensure that you do not get rubber cement on the outside of the oring, just a little on the inside to hold it in place.
