hrturner
I would steer clear of the NCstar vest. Yea it might work for a while but it isn't very flexible as far as configuration and you will likely want to move stuff as you get more expereince playing. I would look into some sort of molle vest that will allow you to move/add/remove pouches as you deem fit. The urban digital.... Why? Black - Its very warm in the summer. It's winter, figured it'd be good for CQB games.. all of this I've been pretty much taking CQB/indoor into consideration..
hrturner
Ah, far more games are played in the woods than indoors. I would suggest looking into woodland or desert before worrying about CQB but that's just me.
Eagle
Unless you have your heart set on urban digital you might as well invest that money in Green and Tan camo's, as urban camo is just about useless for airsoft (other than looking pretty cool, of course). M81 BDU and DCU are just as good indoors and you can use them at just about every other game. You wont be able to use urban digital at many games that require the traditional green vs tan scenario. Fraya!
Good points to take into consideration, didn't really think about certain field/game requirements..They've got woodland/Desert options in all of the above as well, so camo aside.. Gadoris
Bah acu, I wear them only cause I have to.... Atacs au, desert marpat, or of course multicam would be my suggestion for an all around good camo. Also besides it getting hot, black only works on a dark corner, until someone flashes you with a light.
Endgame
Black - Its very warm in the summer.Amen to that, brother.
Joker
I think I have a pair of the same knee pads in OD that I use from time to time. And while the bucklles for easy on and off are nice, mine tend to slide down a lot. It could just be my skinny chicken legs but having to pull them up while you are running and gunning is not fun lol. ~Joker

Joker
Well because I need a bit more heavy duty then most, the knee pads I use are actually not "airsoft" knee pads, I believe they are for roller blade use. Sadly they do not have the nice buckle feature, I have to slide them on. But they are very padded, have a nice plate on the front, velcro in place, and do not move. ~Joker
Eagle
Crye Combat Pants or similar style- feature pockets to add their intergrated airflex kneepads
-Rogue-
I actually read that in the review. Are there any others you or someone recommends instead? If you are willing to spend the money, go with the Arkter'yx knee pads. I have a set and they are WONDERFUL. Lightweight, adjustable, and slimline. http://www.skdtac.com/Arcteryx-Military-Knee-Cap-p/arc.510.htm On a side note, when looking for gear, I always recommend that you pick a solid color (Green or Tan) and buy from that range. You will change camo tops and patterns often between games and its just a lot easier logistically to have one set of gear. You have the right idea on combat vests, but do stay away from those cross-draws. A similar execution, but better pouch set up is this one: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=28_173&products_id=3831 OE Tech is actually Condor, just re-branded. The vest has everything that one would need to begin playing and plenty of room for expansion on the back MOLLE and the belt. Do not worry that it does not have a "Holster." Just use of the six double-M4 pouches.
pointman
Shop around on eBay for turbo fans I think I got mine from a police shop in Colorado for 110 with free shipping
Endgame
They're not Turbofans, but the are ESS. I bought these from this vendor at the Indy 1500. You order these from this site: http://www.gunnyssur...ss-goggles.html I avoid some camo patterns, ACU and Multicam in particular. From I remember in some games, ACU doesn't necessarily classify as tan in most cases, and I remember that at Blind Fury and Northern Light, there were a lot of friendly fire situations because Multicam looks like green at distance and in varying shades of light. I have Marpat for green and DCU 3-color for my Tan kit. I got them both off Amazon for around 70 bucks brand new. Can't seem to find anything 2X and higher at the surplus stores. Gadoris
You can buy knee pad inserts for any acu (army combat uniform) as well. It's just a little foam insert but if you like that style of pants, or don't want to fork out the money for crye, which are extremely nice, they work. If you want the Crye style without the cost, TMC makes replica G3 Airflex knee pads for under $20, and you can have them custom sewn I o your pants from Adventure Tactical for about $37 or so
targetpractice
Speaking of the 1500, how are the prices on gear there, compared to the army surplus stores around town?
Eagle
Completely depends. You can get price gouged out your ass if you're not careful, or you can find the best deals around. Don't go to buy anything without a basic knowledge of what you're looking for. A lot of 1500 sellers prey on the obvilious, and they won't think twice about charging you a nice 20-30% markup on gear. Gadoris
Airflex should actually fit in the knee pockets, never seen those before... I assume they come with straps? Intresting, think I'm gonna do this with my atacs acu's, they crye ones have some weird stretchy looking stuff I assume so you don't blow the backs out of them, looks ghey, thanks for pointing those out to me eagle:)
