Precision Machined Custom Parts.

Recommended Posts

Every so often one of our fellow AI members needs a part machined that either doesn’t exist on the open market, or is very hard to get, for their custom airsoft build. This gives me a chance to help them out a bit, and try something a little bit different from my normal projects. I’ll list a few up here in the thread for you guys to check out.

Pablo (Vacceo) had a couple ARES G36’s, which had aluminum muzzle threads. After taking a flash hider off more than once, they’re stripped out. I cut off the threads, reamed the outer barrel’s ID back about 1.5”, and tapped it ½-20” NF thread. Then I made this threaded adapter from 304 Stainless, ½-20 to Metric M14x1.0 RH. Now he has strong threads for his HK flash hiders and suppressors/barrel extensions.

This crossbolt body pin was made for HitchHiker on his CA53 project. The 53 and 33 series slightly differ in stock attachments, and he wanted the strength of a solid 4140 body pin to ensure a robust attachment. It’s threaded M6x1.0mm, with an Allen button head.

These are replacement mounting brackets for a Mosquito Molds M203 launcher, made from 4140 steel. The stock ones are made of some sort of cast aluminum alloy, and don’t hold tight because the material gives too much under tightening. These were made for Peli.

I made these handguards for myself, after the TM Spetz needed some new furniture.

Dont forget about the AK sight adjustment tool (real steel) you made a couple of us. :D

Really great work.

If you can make a flash hider, that would be awesome. Black anodized coating and all that.... :)

I can make a lot of flash hiders, it's just not usually cost effective unless it's a new design that no one else has.

Anodizing is applied to Aluminum, like AR lowers. I can powder-coat or blue steel.

Ah, forgot about those, thanks for the reminder.

These are all A2 Tool Steel, hardened to ~58 Rc. Powder-coated a Foliage Green color.

Hmmm....maybe a custom flash hider with QD mock suppressor? The ideas are flowing.....out of my brain....

'Bout what would it run to make up a rail-to-rail coupler out of pretty much whatever you have on hand? I'm just talking something to lock together a tactical rail face to face with another tactical rail. Two years of CNC, I'd do it, but I don't have access to a machine and I'm away from my workshop. :-(

  • 2 months later...

Let me tell you guys that S_Z built myself a custom gas block for my SR12 and it fit like a glove, if you need something done, hit him up, it was the best money I ever spent.

I also like endgame's idea

custom flash hider with QD mock suppressor, and you could put a A-I logo on it....bad ass

That's what I asked for with the rail-to-rail coupler. A sawed down spring tri-shot would fit great for a masterkey with a good rail-to-rail clamp.

Once I get Rob's project done, we'll talk. I promised him he'd be priority #1 until it's completed.

Gotta keep my pimp hand strong! :D

Thanks again S_Z, I'm looking forward to the finished product.

The masterkey project is on the list gents, I'll let you know when other projects are caught up and I can start on it.

AltesFFbushing_zps80854593.jpg

This is the bushing I made for Altes. It clamps to the barrel at the journal (where the gasblock would be), and has 4 screws that attach through the handguard to stabilize the barrel.

I would recommend that if you have a long outer barrel rifle for a DMR or such, this  thing is fantastic, got rid of my gas block that is there just for cosmetic's, put the bushing on, screwed it to the barrel then to my RIS, now the whole rifle is rock solid from the flash hider to the stock....Beautiful.

Now, if you do real-steel machining... I have a few projects for you.

Depends on what it is, and project size. I no longer do: High-end 1911 work, plastic frame stippling, or NFA FCGs or barrels. All of them have caused me too many headaches (from customers requests, not the work itself). I've built AKs, ARs, BHPs, 1911s, Mausers, and 870/500's from bare receivers, so I have a bit of experience working with most firearms. I'm honestly a year+ out on large projects, got enough to keep me busy. Everything in this thread I consider "smalls", stuff I can get done on the side fairly quick. At this time I'm not taking on any more large projects, I have enough of my own to complete. At a certain point I'd rather have the free time than the project side money. That may change once some of the other projects are completed, we'll see.

I have a few airsoft-related projects I'm trying to complete by summer, so that is my main focus right now.
